physical therapy
Sorry for my longer-than-expected hiatus. I didn't finish Harry Potter until last night. I won't post any spoilers (but I think if you wanna totally bypass spoilers get your arse off the 'net and get readin'!) but it is good. Definitely worth the read! I even went to one of the midnight parties with my friend Erin (dressed as Rita Skeeter) and her cute sister, Emma (Ginny Weasley). I was my scary self!
On a personal note: my birthday was good, but a little disappointing.
Now, onto the task at hand: blogging about physical therapy.
Physical therapy has been my savior so far.
My PT rocks! I don't think he quite knew what to do with me at first...not ever having dealt with a person in a wheelchair full-time or dealing with someone in my predicament. I probably wasn't totally honest about my prognosis, but my doctor did tell me I could walk still and that I should work towards that goal, so I relayed that to my PT.
The only problem was I rarely walked and I was weak. My PT and I set out a game plan. It took me awhile, but I started to do exercises on my own. I no longer felt like I was drowning into a sea of no hope. I had it again!
I still am weak, but I am much stronger now. Thanks to my exercises and the addition of my standing frame !
This stuff gives me hope. PT gives me hope. I am glad I found it. I am sorry I didn't use it sooner. I am so thankful for it!
