reflexology

I do love my art class. I like playing Picasso, but I especially love socializing with my fellow classmates. There's John, who fights with me like a brother. Patty, who's just so sweet and helpful. Judy and Kostolos (I probably butchered the spelling of his name!) are awesome. And the two new gals, who I can't recall their names right now, are cool too. And then, there's Jim. Jim is pretty cool. He's like my third grandfather. He's in his 60s and works part time at Wal-mart. He always has a plentiful supply of chocolate (usually an assortment of Hershey Kisses and Andes Mints), which he shares with me quite readily. Of course, his steady supply of chocolate quickly won me over. (I am a huge choco-holic!) But as I talked with him more and more, I found that Jim wasn't just my Santa with a sackful of chocolate, he is interesting. Jim loves fish. He always draws fish into his artwork. He always talks about fishing and fishing trips. I've never been fishing, but I really want to go one day, just to be able to relate better to Jim. Jim just got one of his hips replaced a few months ago. If that wasn't enough, he is going to get his other hip replaced at the end of the month. Lately, his hips have been giving him a lot of pain. This week he was noticeably better though. He is still using his cane, but he is no longer grimacing with pain with every step. Jim has started doing a new therapy, reflexology. He showed me proudly the increased movement in his hand. He told me his walk is now pain free. After only two treatments! And Jim showed me this stuff he bought from the place where he gets his reflexology treatments. He said it reduces the stress in your body and helps control pain. He even let me try a few drops of it. I was not feeling too well yesterday. I had massive cramps and I was really tired. I am a skeptic. I don't believe in a wonder drug or a supplement or anything. But I swear it helped. The pain subsided for a few hours and I felt normal for a few hours. I am going to buy some of that stuff. I wonder if reflexology could help me. I guess I need to do some more research.

I know my mom swears by that Rescue Remedy stuff; I have never tried it. Also had a great-uncle who swore by reflexology. Even if it doesn't do a whole lot, you still get a great foot massage.

Wow! On 8/2 I was told about Rescue Remedy by the psychologist who spoke at the lung support group I attend monthly. She recommended it for Shakespeare and his vet said it was safe for him and that she knows people who are convienced that it works to calm. Castulo bought us a bottle but I have yet to try it. Will do so today as we will be home all day. I know for sure that Reflexology works for migraines.
