Patience in short supply

I am soo annoyed right now. My neurologist begged me to go to the MDA clinic when I went to see him way back in February. My defenses were down,, so I agreed. He told me the office would contact the MDA at OHSU and then OHSU would contact me to make an appointment. Well, my neurologist's office called the wrong department at OHSU. So, the wrong place called me, and I made an appointment with the wrong doctor. (She never mentioned MDA...but I never noticed I guess.) I did notice when I got the paperwork...it was asking for all these things like CAT scans and stuff...which I found weird...nothing is wrong with my brain!!! Google my disease, people! So, I call the OHSU person with my concerns...and she tries to reassure me, telling me this is what my neurologist referred me to. I'm sorry to question his brilliance. "But is the MDA going to pay for this?" I asked. MDA pays for my cab ride there (my mom has this weird thing about driving on the freeway, and the only way into Portland is over the Columbia River, and the two bridges happen to be freeways; my dad won't or can't take off work without sending a lot of guilt trips my way; Scott and Todd both have better things to do than rot in a hospital with me...so, I go alone.) I rather like it. A drama-free visit! The doctor seemed surprised I was by myself last time...I forgot I am supposed to be helpless. And I can only imagine a $500 bill that medicaid would refuse to pay, all to visit a clueless doctor that won't tell me anything helpful. She assured me she would find out. Well, my neurologist's office called this morning and left a message..saying that I made the wrong appointment and they cancelled it and I need to call back to help them reschedule. Ugh. I haven't called them back yet.
