Food for thought about disabled women's health care
Woman's health personal story (you may want to skip if you are a man): Last year, I had some bleeding when a catheter was inserted and taken out when I was at the urologist, so the nurse suggested I get my woman parts looked at.
This meant I had to get up on a table to be examined...and well, I can't transfer on that super-high doctor examination table,l so my mom and I tried to find a doctor around with a table that moved up and down.
THERE WEREN'T ANY!
You would think the medical profession would be the first place to be accessible, but it's not. I had to go to my regular doctor and have him and about 4 other people lift me. Thank goodness no one dropped me...and I had an infection, so it was good I was examined.
