My dream job
This is an assignment my job counselor person wants me to do to prove I can write and type (it makes me sad that my degrees don't prove anything, but here we go.)
This is actually a hard assignment for me. I've had so many dreams, and they haven't worked out, so my dream now is kind of vague.
I don't have a title per se.
Any dream job of mine must involve writing or editing. It doesn't have to be the main part of the job because I will always write. It is something that I will always do no matter what, but since it is such a big part of who I am and I think I should take advantage.
I would also like to use my management and leadership skills. It probably won't happen in something entry-level, but I would like a job with room for advancement.
I also don't mind doing presentations in front of large groups of people. I have spoken in front of over 500 people before.
I like having a lot of different duties, so that I have some variety in my job. I especially like writing, analysis, and research. I can do number crunching and accounting, but it is not my favorite stuff to do
I like being able to work in a group, but I don't like being micro-managed. I like being asked to do something, but then, being free to do so in the manner I choose.
I don't want to feel like I have to prove myself every second of the day. I want help when I ask for it, but I am a capable, responsible human being, not a freak in a wheelchair., who just takes up space. I want high expectations.
I think I would be more happy helping a cause than individual people. I am frustrated with social service.
I've always wanted to work in higher education. I am comfortable in a learning environment. But I am comfortable in an office environment as well. I crave human interaction. I would like to work closely with 5-6 people.
Maybe the problem is I want too much. My job searching experience so far seems to lend to that conclusion. So, I am still at a loss.
