pins

Last weekend, I went to downtown Portland for the rose parade with my brother. It was fun. I hadn't gone for a couple of years, and the weather was cloudy, but we only got sprinkled on for like 5 minutes (which is a major success in Oregon). The floats are awesome! And it was accessible. I saw a lot of accessible porta-potties. Props to the city of Portland! I did have an awkward moment though. A disabled man came by while we were waiting for the parade, he was selling little flag pins to help disabled adults. He gave his spiel, then turned to me. "You're disabled. Aren't you?" I nodded. Did the wheelchair tip him off? Suddenly, I was uncomfortable. He gave me a pin and told me he thought highly of me. I know he was just trying to be nice. I mean, he was in a wheelchair. It just made me uncomfortable.
