Why IS a nursing home inaccessible?
I'm so angered today .
Pissing people off here at the nursing home at an amazing rate. But this place makes me so mad. The way they treat me, as a woman in a wheelchair (yes, I think I'll be using one all my life, and I still won't let it stop me from having a life. IN THE COMMUNITY. NOT IN A DAMN ADULT FAMILY HOME. AMAZING, HUH? NO, I'M ENTITLED TO IT.!) is appalling. Why aren't nursing homes required to be accessible? ADA, ring a bell anyone? I'm in limbo right now. Dealing with medicaid cuts and my surgery. I need to stay here. To guarantee my PT after surgery.
Too bad I didn't think to say that to the therapy person, when she started o yel at me w hen I dared to state the obvious fact that I struggle with the inaccessibility of this place.
She told me to move to an adult family home . She can move there.
Then, maybe she'd respect me.
How do these people sleep at night?
I hate people.
