blaming...do something more productive

The budget of WA state is in shambles.

Social programs are first to go. Needless to say, we, the disabled, I am suffering. And yep, it sucks!

I was reading a blog post about this, and it quickly became a republican blame game. Theen, I had to post this:

Yep, it's all the republicans fault, especially here in wa.

Not only do dems hold the majority in Both houses of WA state congress, our governor is a Dem.

And Wa has been democratic for a long time. So sorry, I don't buy anyone's 'blaming rhetoric.'

I'm sick of the blame game. Quit blaming and solve the damn problem!

I am a gimp from wa state who has been in a nursing home for almost 2 years, living off $57 a month because I've been bickering with medicaid for what I need, and yes, democrats are part of the problem too.

Sorry to ruin your little dream world.

Oh, and I am an independent. Always have been.

Maybe you should be too. Because, NEWSFLASH, your party is failing us too.

Well said Sarah, and since I'm too worked up to sleep I'll reply =). I totally see where it is really easy to blame Rs. They are generally the one's viewed as attempting to be fiscally "responsible" by cutting budgets by decimating social programs and fighting to maintain tax cuts for people who probably don't need them. It makes people angry, especially people in need. But seriously, even if you want to buy the argument that every Republican is a jerk who hate social programs and want to see you living on the street and me unemployed (and I don't buy that argument, most of the Republicans I know IRL absolutely do not believe that), where does that leave Democrats? If Dems are the party who realize that social programs like Medicaid are necessary and who are the sole champions of all that is good and right with quality interventions for those in need, then why the heck are they compromising with the Republicans over this stuff and hanging you out the dry? If dems were amazing they'd be cutting the budget somewhere else, right? Seriously if you believe in this strict line of right and wrong, then I think that Democrats are MORE to blame for knowingly abandoning the needy, and I am far angrier with them. I really hate that people can't see that things are far more nuanced than Republicans and Democrats or black and white, and I hate that politics is adversarial over things like this. People are suffering and it is easy to help them if the arguing would just stop and if they would look around at what you deal with every day- I honestly believe if politicians had to spend a day in the shoes of a person with unique needs or shadow a nurse social worker, we would see a LOT of change really fast. Making sure people aren't suffering is more important than winning political points or furthering your ideology. Every political party should believe in helping the American people- even the people who don't have perfect minds or perfect bodies. Especially ones that don't have perfect bodies or perfect minds. Republicans are an easy target when one is angry, but they are not the only ones to blame. Okay, I'm done and I hope I didn't say anything too stupid or offensive to any friends who are Rs or Ds, I just get so upset about needless pain over really stupid ministerial stuff.
